Pine Ridge RV Campground Review

We traveled to Pine Ridge RV Campground in Birch Run, Michigan in May, 2019. We visited this campground for the first annual Michigan Grand Design Rally.

Pine Ridge RV Campground

The campground features MANY pull-thru sites that can accommodate even the longest RVs. It was a great destination for this rally because of the extra-long campsites and the community spaces.

We camped on site 149 which is one of many pull-thru, full hook-up sites in the park. So. Many. Pull-thru. Sites. This park is really ideal for larger RVs.

Our favorite aspect of our site in particular was its location close to the community building, the restrooms, and the playground. Our site wasn’t particularly shady but there are many mature trees throughout the campground.

While our site was nice and long (nearly 80 ft!) there wasn’t much room between us and our neighbors. This is fairly common throughout the park, unless you’re able to score one of the sites on the end of a row.

Pine Ridge RV Campground

The campground is quite large with over 200 sites. There are many trees giving it a bit of an “Up North” feel. The bath house isn’t glamorous but it is well-maintained and clean. The showers are coin operated but given that most of the sites are full hook-up that wasn’t an issue for us.

The community building is large – great for group camping trips and activities! And, our kids loved the playground area. There is also a nice basketball court – our kids used it for sidewalk chalk instead. Whatever makes them happy!

Overall this is a great campground if you’re looking for a spot for a larger RV to visit Frankenmuth or Birch Run. It is conveniently located within minutes of both destinations.

The Area around Pine Ridge RV Campground

Pine Ridge is located between Frankenmuth and Birch Run. There is a huge outlet shopping mall in Birch Run. Unfortunately, our kids weren’t into a shopping trip so we didn’t check it out during this trip but we’ve visited sans kids in the past and liked it.

We visited Frankenmuth during our trip. We’ve traveled all over Michigan and this was our first visit! It really is a charming area. We visited Bronners CHRISTmas WonderlandRiverPlace Shops, and  Frankenmuth Cheese Haus before heading back to the campground for more rally activities. If you’ve never visited Bronners it really is a must-see!
