We traveled to Silver Lake Resort and Campground
in July, 2018. We were visiting the area to attend a family wedding and
decided to bring our camper at the last minute. Yes, we’re
#campingobsessed! One of the owners, Don helped us book out site over
the phone. He was really helpful and so nice that we knew this was the
right place to stay.
If you’re looking for a clean campground
with resort-like amenities, conveniently located to the action in Silver
Lake we recommend checking this one out.
Campsite
We camped in the back of the campground in a pull thru full hookup site. The campsite itself (site 185) wasn’t super scenic but it was convenient to have full hookup! It looked like the area we camped in was a bit newer than the rest of the park so the trees were still quite small and not shady. The trees in the rest of the park are much bigger and did provide shade.
Campground
It is apparent that the staff at Silver Lake Resort and Campground takes real pride in their facilities. The office and camp store were new and meticulously clean. The camp store offered anything you might need during your stay along with lots of treats. The pool area was also really clean. And, the playground was once of the nicest we’ve seen at a private campground.
I used the showers during our stay to check them out even though we had full hook up at our site. They weren’t the most beautiful showers I’ve seen but they were clean and the water was nice and warm. There were plenty of showers available with a laundry facility connected.
We also appreciated that the campground offered a gated entrance for security. This would be especially helpful if you’re planning to bring along toys for the dunes!

Area
Silver Lake is a great place to visit if you love active vacations! We wouldn’t recommend it for someone looking for relaxation and quiet time but if you love adventure this is a great destination. We don’t own our own ATVs so we always opt to check out the sand dunes on the Mac Dune rides when we visit. It’s always a good time! There is also a public beach at the State Park and several miniature golf options to keep your family busy. Silver Lake Resort and Campground is located within minutes of all these activities.
